PrinterAnywhere – Yes, now print across town or the world!
ByI’ve been waiting for years for something like this! I was on our monthly Technology Call with fellow AssistU VAs yesterday, when someone spoke up about this free web tool, PrinterAnywhere (still in Beta).
So – what will it do for you?
Say you’re out of town or out of the office and a customer calls and needs a copy of a report. You have had software compatibility problems with this particular program, so e-mail won’t work. You could fax it, but it wouldn’t look like an original. Both of you simply install and configure the software. You pull up the document and select print and select your customer’s printer and it’s sent, in an encrypted format, over to his printer. Sending via PrinterAnywhere is beneficial if you do NOT want the recipient to have an electronic copy of your document for whatever reason. It doesn’t go through e-mail, nor is the document stored anywhere on-line.
Of course, if you had a VA (virtual assistant), who always had access to your documents, just make a phone call and all the above is virtually completed!
If you have several printers at home and are “network-challenged”, forget about networking and use PrinterAnywhere instead!
Think of the personal uses as well. Say you want to send some pictures of the kids to grandma and grandpa. Have them put the printer paper in their printer and – wala- instant gratification! No bulky e-mails to send, no trying to walk the grandparents through how to open an attachment!
