There is good tool which works with outlook and other mail files- http://www.pstrepairs.net/ ,program is free as how as i remember, it opening corrupted PST files, it is compatible with Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and all supported versions of Microsoft Outlook.

For work with with outlook files advise try-ost to pst tools,my friends helped next tool,as far as i know it is free,utility convert from ost to pst software will convert *.ost to *.pst extension, that can be easily opened by any email client, compatible with Microsoft Outlook,can see a preview window of ost pst conversion 2003, that shows emails, which were recovered successfully by ost to pst tools,convert to pst can process damaged *.ost files, but, when it is heavily damaged, you can see some minor blind spots in a preview window,export your mailbox to a file with *.pst extension.
